Big Stone Therapies Inc in Baxter is pleased to provide services in the following areas:

Physical Therapy- Our therapists offer experience in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic therapy, hip, shoulder, knee and ankle rehabilitation, joint and muscle pain, back and neck disorders, arthritis management, sports related injuries, stroke rehabilitation, walking or balance disorders. Our new pediatric gym and treatments rooms allow our PTs to work with our younger patients in an environment that is just right for them. See below for photos of our pediatric area.

Occupational Therapy – provides treatment to help patients function to the best of their ability in activities of daily living. Services include but are not limited to; hand therapy, arthritis management, wheelchair positioning, and retraining of activities of daily living. Our pediatric OTs help kids with a wide array of situations such as: those who have a physical, sensory or cognitive disability or kids who need help learning strategies to help them remain focused in class and get their homework done. Our Occupational Therapists help children with disabilities to be as independent as possible. In addition, we work with children with autism to help them learn to interact with others.

Sports Medicine Services – We offer a variety of sports medicine from injury screening to working with school athletic directors to prepare athletes for action. We also partner with Pillager and Pierz schools to provide on-field sports medicine services.

Assisted Living – Big Stone Therapies offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services to nursing homes and long term care facilities. Call us to find out at which facilities we are currently providing services. We also offer a Falls Prevention Program to this group to help keep them safe and strong.

Home Health – Big Stone Therapies works with different home health agencies in the area to bring our services right into the patient’s home. See us for more information for the agencies we currently work with.

Speech Therapy – Speech Therapy services are available for those who have difficulty expressing themselves or understanding words spoken to them. Adults may need speech therapy after a stroke or traumatic accident. For children, it generally involves pursuing milestones that have been delayed. We recommend quick intervention for children with speech concerns. We do not believe in a “wait and see” approach is as valuable time may be lost in the correction of the problem. Please call our speech therapist any time to discuss your child’s needs.

Pediatric Services – Baxter Big Stone Therapies is the only clinic in a 60 mile radius to offer specialized physical, occupational, and speech therapy programs to children. Our therapists bring years of pediatric experience and expertise to our clinic. Our special pediatric gym and treatment rooms were designed with kids in mind. Occupational Health- in addition to treating work–related injuries, we partner with business and industries in the area to help decrease employee injuries. Our services include: functional capacity evaluations, pre-work screens, on-site screening services to determine if the work environment is designed ergonomically correct, and Fit Back and Fit Nick programs. Community Services – Our therapists are available to speak to groups or organizations on topics related to improving the functionality of the group members.
